Putting on a chastity cage is fairly simple. Take your time, handle each step gently and never force anything. This step-by-step guide explains how to put on a chastity cage and check that it fits properly. You'll also find practical tips and precautions based on common real-world situations.

1. Prepare Your Body and Chastity Cage

Cleaning a chastity cage and intimate area before putting the cage on

Before putting on your chastity cage, take a few minutes to clean both your body and the device. This helps make wearing the cage more hygienic and comfortable.

  1. Clean the genital area thoroughly. If you are uncircumcised, gently retract the foreskin and clean underneath it, as this may be more difficult once the cage is in place.

  2. Clean the cage, base ring and other parts. Dry every component thoroughly before putting the device on.

  3. Run cool water over your penis. Cool water can help it retract and remain fully flaccid, which can make putting the cage on easier.

You may also choose to trim or shave your pubic hair or use a suitable lubricant. Neither is required, and both have potential drawbacks. We'll cover these options later in the article, along with other useful tips for making the process easier.

2. Put On the Base Ring

Putting on the base ring is often the trickiest part for first-time users. Take your time and follow the steps below, without ever forcing anything.

  1. Pass the testicles through the base ring. Start with one testicle, then gently pass the second through. If it feels difficult, bring the ring upward from underneath the scrotum and gently guide the skin through the opening to help each testicle pass.

  2. Pass the penis through the base ring. Gently angle the penis downward and guide the glans through the ring. Your penis should be fully flaccid so it can pass through without forcing. Once the glans is through, gently pull the rest of the penis into position.

  3. Adjust and position the base ring. The cage attachment or locking mechanism should sit above the penis, never underneath the testicles. Check the fit of the base ring as well. It should sit securely around the base without feeling excessively tight.

3. Slide On the Cage

Once the base ring is in place, position the cage body in front of the penis and slowly slide it into position, again without forcing it.

  1. Guide the penis into the cage. Slide the cage forward until the glans enters the cage body, then gently guide the rest of the penis inside until the cage reaches the base ring.

  2. Align the cage with the base ring. Once the cage body and base ring meet, align the posts, pins or other attachment points so the two parts fit together correctly for your particular model.

  3. Check everything before locking. Make sure the cage and base ring are properly connected and check carefully that no skin is pinched between the two parts.

4. Lock the Cage and Check the Fit

Your chastity cage is now in position. The final step is to lock it and check that the fit feels secure and comfortable.

  1. Lock the chastity cage. Insert the integrated lock or padlock, then use the key to secure the cage. Make sure the locking mechanism is fully engaged.

  2. Check that everything stays securely in place. Gently pull on the cage to make sure it does not separate from the base ring and that the entire device remains stable.

  3. Test the fit and comfort. Walk around for a few minutes, then try sitting, squatting and lying down. Check that nothing pulls, feels excessively tight or causes pain. If you experience significant discomfort, remove the cage and reassess the fit before trying again.

Your chastity cage is now on. Before wearing it for a longer period or handing the key to your keyholder, take a few minutes to read the tips and precautions below. They can help prevent common problems both while putting the cage on and during everyday wear.

Tips and Precautions for Wearing a Chastity Cage

These tips are not essential for everyone, but they can make putting on a chastity cage easier during your first few attempts or whenever the device is difficult to position.

  1. Use lubricant only if needed. A small amount can help when the skin catches or drags, especially with a compact cage. Water-based lubricant is generally suitable for all common chastity cage materials, although it dries relatively quickly and can become sticky. Silicone-based lubricant lasts longer, but it should generally be avoided with silicone cages unless the manufacturer confirms compatibility.

  2. Be careful with shaving. Shaving before putting on a chastity cage may feel cleaner and make installation easier. The downside appears when the hair begins to grow back, as the skin may become itchy or irritated. Under a cage, this can quickly become uncomfortable. If your skin is sensitive after shaving, trimming may be a better option.

  3. Keep the key accessible. Start by wearing the cage for a few hours at home before attempting extended or daily wear. Do not immediately hand over your only key to your keyholder. You should be able to remove the cage easily if you discover a fit problem or significant discomfort develops.

  4. Watch for pinching with hinged base rings. Some chastity cages use a hinged base ring, which can make installation easier because you do not have to pass the penis and testicles through a closed ring. Before closing it, make sure no skin is caught in the hinge or pinch point. Any pinching can be painful and should be corrected before you continue.

Once the cage fits correctly and you have tested it safely, you can define key management, authorized removals and wear duration in our customizable chastity contract.
